As part of the FASMA 2026 program, the courtyard of the San Miguel de Allende Public Library comes alive with the vibrant rhythms of Cuba in Music, Women, and Son, a joyful concert celebrating the invaluable contribution of women to Cuban music and Afro-Cuban cultural traditions.
Performed by Trío Son de Monte, an ensemble specializing in traditional Cuban son, the concert pays tribute to the legendary female voices, melodies, and compositions that have become an enduring part of Latin America's musical heritage. The trio features Alberto Gómez on guitar and vocals, Víctor Monterrubio on percussion and vocals, and the captivating voice of Jackeline Chan, a singer from Santiago de Cuba, the birthplace of many of Cuba's most iconic musical traditions.
