Fifty-some years ago, SM Playreaders, a non-profit group, began with a few theater lovers reading plays in someone's living room. They grew into staged readings held twice a month at St. Paul's Anglican Church for the outrageous cost of ten pesos a seat. After the Covid years, Teatro Santa Ana kindly invited SM Playreaders to perform there where they now perform two-night productions once a month at an affordable cost. The goal of the SM Playreaders is having fun providing good affordable theater.
