**What even is urban sketching?** 🎨🏙️ **✏️** It started as a support for Painting, and Arquitecture, but now it’s a whole global movement. And it’s also about watercolor. Come hang with Tere Lojero and find out why urban sketching is blowing up. She’ll break down the basics: what it is, how it works, and why it matters for watercolor today. **The plan**: 1️⃣ 45-min chat – César Gordillo talks with Tere about her journey, her process, and the ideas behind her sketches. 2️⃣ 75-min live demo – Watch Tere do her thing, sketching the cityscapes in real time. 3️⃣ Q&A – Ask her anything. For real. 📍 **Where**: Instituto Allende 📅 When: Saturday, Aug 8, 2026 | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM 🎟️ Cost: Free. Yup, totally free. ⚠️ Save the date and get there early. **Who’s this for**? Art students, painters of all levels, urban sketchers, watercolor nerds, or if you just like drawing stuff you see. Basically everyone. **Come sketch with us. Or just watch. No pressure ✏️** #UrbanSketching #Watercolor #TereLojero #SMA #SketchCDMX #FreeArtEvent ***Tere Lojero-Bio*** *Tere Lojero was born in Mexico City and studied architecture in her native country. From 1998 onwards she follows the steps of Watercolor and completely devotes herself to this specialty. She has taken part in diverse collective national and international editions of watercolor exhibitions and has presented more than 30 Solo Exhibits in several Galleries in Mexico.* *She is completely devoted to landscape, a subject that allows her to share her vision of the world and to give her brushes a voice. Capturing scenes of the day-to-day becomes her main objective and through them, she can give part of her soul to the audience.* *She has been awarded in different contests in her native country and abroad. She is the IWS Mexico Leader since July 2017 and from December 2019 on she is Vice-President of IWS Globe. From April 2024 on she is Vice-President of the Mexican Watercolor Society (SMA), and in April 2026 she became President of the SMA. She has been a juror in different painting international contests and as a watercolor promoter and organizer, she has arranged national and international contests, Pleinair activities, festivals and exhibitions. On the other hand, she dictates workshops for different, both national, and international watercolor associations, galleries, and museums.*   ***César Gordillo-Bio*** *His work is distinguished by his profound interest in light and atmosphere. These elements transform each landscape into a sensory experience, transcending literal representation.* *His approach to watercolor combines loose, alla prima brushstrokes with precise control of transparencies, inspired by both the Impressionist tradition and the chromatic richness of urban and natural landscapes.* *Throughout his career, he has participated in group and solo exhibitions both nationally and internationally. His work is part of the Permanent Collection of the Alfredo Guati Rojo Watercolor Museum, the Watercolor Museum of the State of Mexico, and the Walter Anderson Museum in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.* *He has twice been awarded with the Tlacuilo Trophy, granted by the Mexican Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Museum. His work has also been published in the international magazine The Art of Watercolor.*
