Folk Art Lecture Series

As part of the Second Gathering of Master Artisans: "Living Mexican Art, Masters of Folk Art", FASMA 2026 proudly presents a special Folk Art Lecture Series, bringing together master artisans from across Mexico from August 13–16 to share their knowledge, creative journeys, and cultural traditions.

Hosted at the Museum of Toys (Museo del Juguete), these presentations offer a unique opportunity to hear directly from the artists whose work preserves and reimagines Mexico's rich artistic heritage. Through personal stories and artistic insights, visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the traditions that continue to shape contemporary folk art.

Learning from the Masters

Each lecture highlights the experiences of renowned artisans whose creations reflect the identity, history, and worldview of their communities. Their stories reveal how traditional techniques, passed down through generations, continue to evolve while preserving the cultural values that define Mexican folk art.

Alongside the lecture series, visitors will enjoy a special exhibition featuring works created specifically for the gathering, as well as an exhibition and sale of original handcrafted pieces. This unique setting offers the opportunity to appreciate and acquire authentic works by nationally and internationally recognized master artisans.

A Unique Cultural Experience

More than a series of talks, this event creates a space for meaningful dialogue between artists and audiences, encouraging a deeper appreciation of craftsmanship, creativity, and the living traditions that continue to enrich Mexico's cultural landscape.
