Convergences
Convergences marks the reopening of the historic Pérgola Gallery at Instituto Allende and celebrates the artistic legacy of one of San Miguel de Allende's most influential cultural institutions.
The exhibition brings together twenty artists connected to Instituto Allende in an intergenerational dialogue that bridges different eras, experiences, and artistic perspectives. The show features three members of the institution's founding faculty from the 1950s alongside seventeen students and alumni of the University of Guanajuato's Visual Arts Program, which has been shaping artists since 1997.
Through painting, ceramics, and contemporary material exploration, the exhibition reveals how artistic research evolves over time while maintaining a strong connection to its roots. Each work contributes to an ongoing conversation that reflects the creativity and vitality of a constantly evolving artistic community.
75 Years of Artistic Legacy
Convergences celebrates more than seven decades of artistic and academic continuity, highlighting Instituto Allende's lasting influence on generations of artists who have contributed to the cultural development of San Miguel de Allende and Mexico.
The exhibition represents a meaningful glimpse into the extensive genealogy of creators trained at one of Mexico's oldest art schools, showcasing both the preservation and renewal of its artistic heritage.
