Schubertiades in early 19th-century Vienna were gatherings typically sponsored by friends or aficionados of Schubert, who would meet informally in different homes to listen to Schubert's music and the music of other contemporary composers associated with Vienna. This concert replicates this kind of an event, with works of Schubert as well as W. A. Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Carl Czerny, Alban Berg, Johannes Brahms y Hugo Wolf. Outstanding Mexican artists tenor Olymar Salinas, soprano Luz Escalera and clarinetist Eleanor Weingartner join pianist Malcolm Halliday, a verteran player of Schubert Lieder and for many years resident pianist for the American Schubert Institute in Boston, MA.
