Second Gathering of Master Artisans
Living Mexican Art: Masters of Folk Art

As part of the FASMA 2026 program, the Museum of Toys (Museo del Juguete) proudly presents the Second Gathering of Master Artisans: "Living Mexican Art: Masters of Folk Art", a unique celebration of Mexico's extraordinary artistic heritage and the master craftspeople who keep its traditions alive.

From August 13–16, between 11:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to meet renowned artisans from across Mexico whose work reflects generations of craftsmanship, creativity, and cultural identity.

A Celebration of Mexican Folk Art

The event features a special exhibition of works created exclusively for this gathering, alongside an extensive exhibition and sale of original handcrafted pieces available to collectors, visitors, and art enthusiasts. Featured disciplines include ceramics, fine jewelry and metalwork, wood carving, traditional musical instruments, papel picado and paper-cut art, engraved glass, and many other remarkable expressions of Mexican folk art.

Beyond the exhibition itself, visitors will hear directly from the artisans through talks and presentations in which they share their creative journeys, artistic philosophies, and the cultural traditions that inspire their work. Each piece embodies a unique worldview while celebrating the rich diversity of Mexico's living cultural heritage.
